  12. Today's PC users are faced with the ever increasing burden of storing
  13. and managing vast quantities of electronic information stored as text
  14. documents. Traditional ways to manage data found in structured,
  15. field-oriented databases are not sufficient for handling information
  16. found in unstructured files and documents. A new generation of text
  17. retrieval tools and systems are emerging that allow users to manage and

  42. platform, is not based solely on keywords, found in today's older
  43. inverted file technology, but on character strings. It lets one search
  44. for characters, words and phrases to radically increase the ease,

  46. queries and large databases.

  53. finding information. With Search City's navigational and search tools,
  54. one can never get lost or confused during the search process. All tools

  57. the exact piece of information desired, one click will open the full
  58. document.

  102. Search City 2.0 defines groups of files to search. You only can search
  103. in one group at a time.

  105. Each group can be a File Group or a Text Database Group. The Text
  106. Database Group allow recognize documents and fields into the files,
  107. using user defined expressions, and the searches are restricted to
  108. documents or fields.

  114. Search speed has been enhanced by using 32 bits code and fine tuning
  115. critical algorithms.

  117. File Group Index makes search velocity independent of the quantity of

  124. Using stopwords the index size is reduced about 40%, increassing the index

  170. the text files in the group can be up to 2 gigabytes.
